Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Change Manager to establish and maintain the Organisation Change Management strategy, designing and implementing practices across programs. You will lead change initiatives, mentor Change Champions, and work with ADA leadership to drive sustainable transformation while engaging a broad range of stakeholders.

This role requires extensive experience in change leadership within complex organisations and offers opportunities to shape national defence

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organisational capabilities.
  • Ability to apply Organisation Change Management methodologies and frameworks.
  • 8+ years leading change in complex environments.
  • Experience mapping change requirements for culture, governance, and roles.
  • Adept at designing and delivering sustainable change in long-term transformations.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Defence Security Clearance eligibility.

Job description

As the Change Managerfor Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you’ll be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Organisation Change Management strategy, designing and implementing Organisational Change Management practices, processes, and conduct activities in line within the Program Capability Strategy Plan and Transformation Plans.

You’ll Need
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organisational skills; able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Application of Organisation Change Management methodologies and frameworks
  • Minimum 8+ years experience leading, facilitating and managing change in complex organisational environments, including setting change management strategies and the design and implementation of change management practices, processes and activities
  • Demonstrated experience in mapping change requirements for organisational culture, governance, capabilities, skills and roles
  • Competent in developing maturity mapping and development planning
  • Adept in design and delivery of sustainable change in a long term, complex transformation setting
  • Confident in communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders from enterprise management to front line staff
  • Proven experience in growing a change management team in a maturing organisation
  • Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
