Job summary

Mazda and Hyundai are seeking a Senior Technician to join our Workshop team across both brands, delivering servicing, maintenance and complex diagnostics with leadership across the team in a busy automotive group.

You’ll mentor less experienced Technicians, maintain manufacturer standards, complete accurate service documentation and collaborate with Service Advisors to ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction in NSW.

Qualifications

• Must hold an automotive trade qualification.
• Extensive experience as an Automotive Technician.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic capabilities.
• Ability to mentor and support less experienced Technicians.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and complex diagnostics.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete repairs to manufacturer standards and specifications.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and identify additional repairs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to fellow Technicians.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Maintain accurate job cards and service documentation.
• Work efficiently to meet workshop productivity and quality targets.
• Support a safe, clean and professional workshop environment.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors and the wider dealership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys complex diagnostics and is ready to provide technical leadership while supporting the wider workshop team.

About the Role

As a Senior Technician, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality servicing, maintenance and repairs across our Mazda and Hyundai vehicles, while supporting workshop performance and developing less experienced technicians.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and complex diagnostics
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technician who can lead by example and is passionate about delivering exceptional workmanship.

• Strong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic capabilities
• Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to mentor and support less experienced Technicians

• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Mazda, Hyundai or Japanese/Korean vehicle experience is highly regarded
