Job summary

KBR in Australia is seeking a Combat Systems Engineer to support Combat Management and Communications Systems across Defence maritime capabilities. You will mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance to Commonwealth representatives and stakeholders, and sustain critical PBS assets.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor degree in engineering, 10+ years in a regulated defence environment, and eligibility for Chartered Engineer status. An active Baseline Defence Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in a recognised engineering discipline.
• Experience with requirements development, design review and acceptance within a regulated technical framework.
• Membership of a recognised professional body and Chartered Engineer registration.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience.
• Eligible for ITAR clearance for relevant ship systems.
• Active baseline Defence security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Combat Management and Communications Systems engineering expertise under supervision.
• Identify technical risks to integration, cybersecurity and design requirements.
• Support engineering activities and conduct design reviews.
• Develop statements for design tasks and manage engineering change processes.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams on systems engineering, safety and certification.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.
