Job summary

Kordia in Canberra is seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our Australian Maritime team, supporting the national Aids to Navigation network. The role combines remote monitoring, fault diagnosis and equipment testing with site support across Australia.

Reporting to the Lead Technician, you will work with AMSA personnel, regional contractors and equipment manufacturers, performing remote troubleshooting and pre-dispatch checks while travelling occasionally to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Electronics and Communications or equivalent
• Experience as electronics/communications/telemetry/technical-support technician
• Ability to diagnose using test equipment and diagnostic tools
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and incident-management skills
• Ability to meet security and system-access requirements
• Willingness to travel interstate/regional as required

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms, outages and fault reports for AtoN
• Diagnose faults in electronic, communications and telemetry systems
• Perform remote troubleshooting and configuration checks
• Provide remote guidance and support to AMSA personnel and contractors
• Inspect, test and repair AtoN and related equipment
• Create technical records and service reports
• Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers on defects
• Support project activities and knowledge development
