Job summary

JLL in Sydney is seeking a Marina Attendant to support marina operations with a strong focus on customer service, vessel movements, and berthing operations. The role reports to the Marina Manager and involves working with yacht crews, berth holders, and contractors in a dynamic waterfront setting.

On-site position requiring NSW licences, forklift experience, and weekend availability. A proactive, safety-conscious attitude and good communication skills are essential to deliver exceptional

Qualifications

• Current NSW driver’s licence and boat operator’s licence.
• Forklift truck licence with ≥2 years' experience.
• Advanced boat driving and handling skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends and maintain safety standards.
• Basic computer skills and digital-app familiarity.
• Marina or boat-yard experience preferred.
• Proactive "can do" attitude and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level marina services and exceptional customer service to all marina customers and visitors.
• Manage day-to-day vessel movements using Boat Cloud App, coordinating berthing operations efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and handle boats to support marina operations and vessel movements.
• Connect vessels with electricity, fresh water, and sewage pump-out services.
• Respond to telephone enquiries and provide accurate information about marina services and operations.
• Maintain daily operational logs, record keeping systems, and manage incoming communications.
• Coordinate external contractors on site and ensure OHS compliance and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance tasks including cleaning, rubbish removal, and general site upkeep.
• Foster positive working relationships with yacht crews, berth holders, contractors and the broader boating community.

What this opportunity involves:

Reporting directly to the Marina Manager, the Marina Attendant is an essential part of the Sydney Boathouse operations team, supporting the smooth running of our premium waterfront facility. This hands-on role combines technical marina operations with outstanding customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic marine environment. An overview of the role:

• Provide high-level general marina services and deliver exceptional customer service to all marina customers and visitors

• Manage day-to-day vessel movements using Boat Cloud App, coordinating berthing operations efficiently

• Operate forklifts and handle boats with advanced skills to support marina operations and vessel movements

• Connect vessels with essential supplies including electricity, fresh water, and sewage pump-out services

• Respond to telephone enquiries and provide accurate information about marina services and operations

• Maintain daily operational logs, record keeping systems, and manage incoming communications

• Monitor and coordinate external contractors on site, ensuring OHS compliance and safety standards

• Perform physical maintenance tasks including cleaning, rubbish removal, and general site upkeep to maintain facility presentation

• Foster positive working relationships with all organizations and individuals using and interacting with the marina

Sounds like you? This is what we are looking for:

• Current NSW driver's licence and boat operator's licence

• Forklift truck licence with a minimum of 2 years' operational experience

• Advanced boat driving and handling skills with confidence in various marine conditions

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with professional presentation

• Flexibility to work weekend shifts and meet the operational demands of the role

• Basic computer skills and proficiency with digital applications

• Marina or boat yard experience with knowledge of the marine industry (preferred)

• Proactive "can do" attitude with a commitment to exceptional customer service
