Job summary

Zenergy Group is seeking a seasoned Health & Safety Consultant for a six-month, on-site contract at a mid-sized industrial facility in New South Wales. You will collaborate with plant management, operations, and shop floor teams to embed a stronger safety culture and maintain regulatory compliance.

Flexible work arrangements may be considered, with options for 4 or 5 days per week. The role emphasizes practical, boots-on-the-ground risk-based outcomes in a busy production environment.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out audits, inspections, and risk assessments across production, warehouse, and yard areas, pinpointing hazards and proposing practical fixes
• Helping to write, review, and roll out safety policies, procedures, and safe work instructions that meet current legislation and standards
• Looking into incidents, near-misses, and reported hazards, then producing root cause analyses and action plans to prevent recurrence
• Running inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for staff, contractors, and site visitors
• Keeping the site aligned with WHS/OHS requirements and acting as the point of contact for regulators when needed
• Working alongside engineering and operations on machine guarding, ergonomics, and process safety specific to heavy equipment manufacturing
• Measuring and reporting on safety performance, including lead and lag indicators, and providing regular updates to site leadership
• Contributing to emergency readiness, including response procedures and drills
• Promoting a proactive safety mindset by encouraging staff involvement and open hazard reporting
