Job summary

NetComm Wireless in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead quality assurance across design, manufacturing and refurbishment. This hybrid/WFH role focuses on continuous improvement and reliability of broadband products.

You will develop QA plans, review supplier data, support NPI, manage change control and drive process optimization to meet customer quality expectations. Join a collaborative team delivering high quality connected solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing QA plans and CAPA with audit reports.
  • Background in product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with 8D, RCA, and FTA for failure analysis.
  • Excellent technical communication and documentation skills.
  • CQE/CQPA certifications or equivalent highly regarded.
  • Six Sigma qualification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and procedures for design, development, manufacturing, or testing.
  • Monitor production quality and optimize processes for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Review and audit supplier quality data (FAIs, PFMEAs, SPCs, IQC/OQC).
  • Resolve quality issues with cross-functional teams using 8D, RCA, and FTA.
  • Support New Product Introduction to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
  • Review BOMs and product acceptance plans to assure quality.
  • Own change control processes for product configuration life cycle.
  • Coordinate triage/refurb processes with CM and 3PL.
  • Generate quality reports for stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement to boost customer satisfaction.

Job Description

As our Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will ensure that our products are of the highest quality in the industry.

As Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will assist with the initiatives and identifying areas for continuous improvement. This role will have integral responsibility in assuring our products are designed, manufactured or refurbished to meet our customer quality expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop well defined processes and procedures to support product design, development, manufacturing or testing activities.
  • Monitor and control production quality, while optimizing processes for efficiency and saving costs.
  • Review/audit Supplier quality data such as First Article Inspections (FAIs), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs), Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs), Yield, Incoming Quality Control (IQC)/Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) reports.
  • Resolve product quality issues working with cross-functional teams and manufactures following 8D process to identify root cause and implement corrective & preventive actions.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and long-term reliability.
  • Review product acceptance plan & test procedures to assure product quality.
  • Generate/Review product Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Own product change control process to ensure detailed traceability for all product configuration changes throughout product life cycle.
  • Coordinate engineering tasks such as set up and maintenance of triage and/or refurb processes at nominated (Contractor Management CM) and/or 3PL.
  • Generate relevant Quality reports as required by key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in developing Quality Assurance plans, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa's audit reports, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) and statistical sampling methodologies for Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC).
  • Experience working within product development and manufacturing environment, with thorough understanding of product design, development, manufacturing & qualification processes.
  • Proven experience in working with cross-functional teams to debug, troubleshoot, and conduct failure analysis following established processes such as 8 Disciplines (8D), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Faul Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Excellent technical communication skills, with proficiency in documentation (Word and Excel).
  • Relevant professional quality certifications, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Process Analyst (CQPA), or equivalent, would be highly regarded.
  • Six Sigma qualification and/or demonstrated experience applying Six Sigma methodologies in a quality or manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.
