Job summary

Bayside Group is seeking a Production Manager (Manufacturing) to lead the production activities at our Ipswich facility. You will plan and direct manufacturing operations, manage human and physical resources, and ensure safety, quality and efficiency across machining, fabrication and assembly processes.

Key duties include strategy development, cost control, staff leadership, procurement of plant and equipment, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer deadlines and quality

Qualifications

• Requires a qualification comparable to an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree.
• Or higher (e.g. in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field) OR 5 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine, implement and monitor production strategies, policies and plans for the company's precision machining, fabrication and assembly operations.
• Plan production activities for output quality and quantity, cost, time and labour to meet orders and deadlines.
• Control operation of production plant and equipment and QA procedures, including maintenance schedules and materials supply.
• Monitor output, costs and efficiency; adjust processes, staffing and resources to minimize costs and waste while maintaining quality.
• Liaise with directors and other managers on production performance, capacity, and issues.
• Oversee acquisition, installation and commissioning of new production plant and equipment.
• Direct research into improved production methods and implement process improvements.
• Prepare production records, reports and schedules; manage job costings.
• Coordinate WHS requirements across the production floor.
• Direct staff including supervisors, machinists and fabricators, and monitor performance.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on capacity, specifications, lead times and quality requirements.
• Manage recruitment, training and development of production staff to maintain a skilled workforce.

Education

AQF Bachelor degree or higher (Manufacturing/Engineering)
