Job summary

Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in Melbourne is seeking a Manager WA Connections to lead the end-to-end onboarding of new generation, storage and large loads into SWIS and WEM. You will work across AEMO, Western Power and industry participants, guiding onboarding activities and delivering coordinated connection processes.

You will establish and evolve the team, manage dependencies, and report on project status and risks to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects across multiple teams.
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities, interdependencies, risks and delivery outcomes.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Experience preparing reports, insights and recommendations for senior leaders and governance forums.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as AEMO’s central point of coordination for onboarding of new generation, storage, transmission, distribution facilities and large loads into SWIS and WEM.
• Partner with Western Power, market participants and internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
• Maintain oversight of onboarding activities, ensuring milestones, dependencies and delivery pathways are managed.
• Monitor progress across connection, accreditation, registration, technical assessment, commissioning and market entry processes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to identify, manage and resolve risks, issues and constraints.
• Provide consolidated reporting on facility readiness, project status, risks and dependencies for governance.
