Job summary

Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in Western Australia is seeking a Manager WA Connections to coordinate end-to-end onboarding of new generation, storage and major loads into the SWIS and WEM. You will work with Western Power and market participants to ensure a seamless, well-governed onboarding process.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, and provide reporting for governance forums while shaping the function's maturity over time.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, interdependencies, risks and delivery outcomes.
• Proven stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Experience preparing reports and recommendations for senior leaders and governance forums.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience within energy markets, power systems or related sectors.
• Understanding of connection, commissioning, registration or market entry processes in energy.

Responsibilities

• Act as AEMO’s central point of coordination for new generation, storage, transmission, distribution-connected facilities and large loads entering SWIS and WEM.
• Partner with Western Power, market participants and internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
• Maintain oversight of onboarding activities, tracking milestones and dependencies.
• Monitor progress across connection, accreditation, registration, technical assessment, commissioning and market entry processes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to identify and resolve risks and constraints impacting delivery.
• Provide consolidated reporting on facility readiness, project status, risks and dependencies for governance.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement to onboarding processes and stakeholder engagement.
