Job summary

Walcha Council is seeking a senior leader to take water, waste and urban services from reactive to strategic. You will report directly to the Director of Infrastructure & Development, lead three coordinators, and build asset management and forward planning the function has never had.

You will develop long-term plans, prepare statutory reports and business cases, manage budgets and tenders, and represent Council on infrastructure matters with senior leadership and Councillors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Experience managing water, wastewater and/or waste services.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation relating to waste and water supply.
• Hands-on leader under public scrutiny with sound judgement.

Skills & Experience

• Highly valued: Qualifications in Project Management, Leadership or Asset Management
• Knowledge of environmental legislation relating to waste and water supply
• Hands‑on leader who stays composed under public scrutiny and makes sound calls
