Job summary

Walcha Council is seeking a senior leader to transform water, waste and urban services from reactive to strategic, reporting to the Director of Infrastructure & Development. You will lead three coordinators and shape asset management, long‑term refurbishment plans and forward planning.

You will prepare statutory reports and business cases, manage budgets, contracts and tenders, and represent the Council on infrastructure matters with senior leadership and elected members.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Experience managing water, wastewater and/or waste services.
• Qualifications in Project Management, Leadership or Asset Management (valued).
• Knowledge of environmental legislation relating to waste and water supply.
• Hands-on leader who stays composed under public scrutiny and makes sound calls.

About the Role

Take Walcha's water, waste and urban services from reactive to strategic, and build the plans that shape the community's future. Report directly to the Director of Infrastructure & Development, lead three coordinators, and build the asset management and forward planning the function has never had.

Skills & Experience
