Job summary

Walcha Council is seeking a senior infrastructure leader to guide water, waste and urban services from reactive to strategic. You will report to the Director of Infrastructure & Development and oversee three coordinators, shaping long-term asset plans and refurbishment strategies.

You will prepare statutory reports, business cases, and council correspondence while managing budgets, contracts, and tenders for maintenance and capital works.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in civil/environmental engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Experience managing water, wastewater and/or waste services.
• Qualified in Project Management, Leadership or Asset Management is highly valued.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation relating to waste and water supply.
• Hands-on leader who stays composed under public scrutiny and makes sound calls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor three coordinators across water, waste and urban services.
• Develop long-term asset management and refurbishment plans.
• Prepare statutory reports, business cases and correspondence for Council.
• Manage budgets, contracts and tenders for maintenance and capital works.
• Represent Council on infrastructure matters with the Director, GM and Councillors.
