Bentley Recruitment in Brisbane is seeking a senior accounting leader to take charge of the accounting division and guide a team of six through an acquisition phase. You will onboard new clients and drive integration, ensuring strong client relationships and ongoing growth.

The role requires a CA or CPA and Australian public practice experience, with competence in reviewing financial statements and tax matters. Xero proficiency is preferred and Tax Agent registration may be pursued.

• Experience using Xero, or willingness to learn.
• Registered Tax Agent, or willing to obtain registration immediately.

About the Role

Take the lead of the accounting division, overseeing a team of 6 staff. With the firm currently in an acquisition phase, you will play a key role in onboarding and integrating new clients, building strong client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the division. Your responsibilities will include reviewing work, setting team targets, managing client relationships and providing guidance to the team.

• Manage a portfolio of Tax & Business Services clients, including individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Review financial statements, tax returns and BAS prepared by the team.
• Review SMSF financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Oversee complex tax matters and provide technical advice across a range of client structures.

About You

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Previous experience in an Australian public practice firm at Supervisor or Manager level.
• Experience using Xero, or willingness to learn.
• Registered Tax Agent, or willing to obtain registration immediately.
