Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a strategic leader to drive delivery of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences strategy at Parkville. You will translate high-level strategy into coordinated projects and partnerships with senior leaders, external partners, and internal stakeholders across six Schools and 41 departments.

You will lead priority initiatives, build briefing materials, and implement tools to improve visibility and accountability in delivery of strategic work.

Qualifications

  • Lead priority strategic initiatives, including planning, coordination and execution under the guidance of the Director of Strategy and External Relations
  • Develop and articulate faculty strategic priorities, producing clear briefings, plans, presentations and supporting documentation
  • Provide project and coordination support for executive priorities, governance forums and leadership decision-making
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Schools, disciplines and functions to align activities and minimise duplication
  • Design and embed simple tools and processes that improve visibility, accountability and delivery of strategic work

You will translate high-level strategy into coordinated projects and partnerships that support impactful health, research and education outcomes. What you will deliver:
  • Lead priority strategic initiatives, including planning, coordination and execution under the guidance of the Director of Strategy and External Relations
  • Develop and articulate faculty strategic priorities, producing clear briefings, plans, presentations and supporting documentation
  • Provide project and coordination support for executive priorities, governance forums and leadership decision-making
  • Coordinate stakeholders across Schools, disciplines and functions to align activities and minimise duplication
  • Design and embed simple tools and processes that improve visibility, accountability and delivery of strategic work
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification, or bring equivalent education and experience in complex organisations
  • Demonstrate experience in strategy development and project execution within large or matrixed environments
  • Apply strong organisational and project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, preparing high-quality briefings, reports and presentations
  • Build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, negotiating priorities and influencing across boundaries
  • Bring sound judgement, initiative, problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail to strategic work
