Job summary

Christadelphian Aged Care is seeking a Manager, Property and Environment (part-time) at North Parramatta NSW. You will lead maintenance, asset planning and contractor governance to keep buildings safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

You will oversee budgets, environmental initiatives and essential services, working with care teams and stakeholders to support resident wellbeing and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead management and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, grounds and services.
• Develop asset registers, condition assessments and replacement schedules.
• Coordinate planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programs.
• Oversee building systems (fire, electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, security, access).
• Manage contractors, suppliers, service agreements, licences and insurances.
• Support capital works, minor works and infrastructure projects.
• Manage facilities budgets within delegated authority.
• Monitor risks to infrastructure, assets and maintenance programs.

Manager, Property and Environment Part-time

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Property and Environment to lead the effective management of our facilities, assets, maintenance services, contractors, grounds and essential infrastructure.

This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring our buildings, equipment and environments remain safe, functional, compliant and fit for purpose. Your work will directly support quality care, resident wellbeing and positive experiences for residents, families, employees and visitors.

About the role

Permanent Part time role 3 days per week.

As Manager, Property and Environment, you will oversee planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, asset lifecycle planning and minor works, contractor governance, environmental initiatives and facilities-related regulatory compliance.

You will work collaboratively with operational leaders and teams across residential care, hotel services, finance, quality, workplace health and safety, administration and technology. You will also contribute to organisational planning, risk management, continuous improvement and a resident-centred culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, grounds, utilities and essential services.
• Develop and maintain asset registers, condition assessments and replacement schedules.

• Monitor infrastructure, environmental, asset and maintenance risks.
• Maintain compliance evidence and support audits, accreditation and regulatory inspections.
• Ensure contractor safety, permit-to-work requirements and WHS obligations are effectively managed.
• Identify practical sustainability, energy and resource-efficiency opportunities.
• Lead and support maintenance employees while building capability, accountability and a positive team culture.
• Communicate planned works, service disruptions and project outcomes to residents, families and other stakeholders.

About you

You will bring:

• Relevant qualifications in facilities management, building services, engineering, asset management, a trade or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading maintenance and facilities management functions.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, plant and equipment maintenance.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and service agreements.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, contractor safety and risk management.
• Experience managing maintenance, operational or capital budgets.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• A current driver’s licence.
• Experience in residential aged care, healthcare or retirement living will be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024, the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, fire safety, essential services and accreditation requirements would also be advantageous.
