Job summary

Swing Factory Pty Ltd in Vermont South is seeking an energetic Manager on Duty to oversee daily operations across golf, driving range, mini golf, café/bar and events.

You will lead a small team on shift, ensure top‑notch guest experiences, safety, and regulatory compliance, and report to the Venue Manager. The role is a hands‑on, on‑floor leadership position with a focus on service excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in recreational, hospitality or venue supervision (public golf, bar, café, leisure or similar).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• RSA required; First Aid and Food Safety certificates highly desirable.
• Comfortable with tech and POS systems (SwiftPOS, Tanda or similar).
• Available for flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays on a 2-week rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Be the senior team member on shift, overseeing daily venue operations and supporting staff across departments (golf course, driving range, kitchen, F&B, events, café, mini golf).
• Support the Venue Manager and 2IC to performance manage the operational staff and drive continual improvement.
• Manage golf course operations including tee times, pace of play, and customer service.
• Manage driving range operations including bay bookings, bay presentation, golf ball collection and dispensing, golf ball tracking technology, customer issues and POS technology.
• Lead and support FOH team members in the hospitality functions of Cafe, Bar and Kitchen service.
• Deliver on the day events in coordination with the Events & Marketing Coordinator.
• Ensure a high-quality, welcoming, and consistent customer experience.
• Ensure a safe environment, manage incidents, feedback, or issues professionally and in line with company policies.

Swing Factory is an Australian-owned business delivering a first-class experience through golf, entertainment, and hospitality. Our venue at Morack Public Golf, Vermont South combines a public golf course, modern driving range, mini golf, café/bar, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

We are seeking an energetic, hands-on daily operations leader to help us maintain operational excellence and deliver memorable experiences to our guests.

The Role

We’re seeking an individual that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading a small team and providing exceptional customer service. The venue is operational from 6am until 10pm daily except for Sunday when it closes at 9pm. The MOD will assist the Venue Manager and 2IC to provide daily operational management coverage across its seven days a week trading. The position will oversee daily the delivery of Driving Range, Mini Golf, Golf Course and Hospitality experiences. Key responsibilities will be management of the team on duty, driving range ball collection process, venue presentation, asset management, overseeing the ordering, payment and delivery of all products, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.

You’ll report to the Venue Manager and work closely with the other MODs and Events & Marketing Co‑ordinator. The role will suit someone with previous experience managing or supervising a small team in a recreational, hospitality or customer interfacing industry looking for the next career step.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain daily reporting, handovers, and communication logs for Venue Management.

Oversee the completion of daily open and close procedures in all departments and the completion of regular department checklist tasks.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in recreational, hospitality or venue supervision (public golf, bar, café, leisure or similar).

Strong communication and organisational skills.

RSA required; First Aid and Food Safety certificates highly desirable.

Comfortable with tech and POS systems (SwiftPOS, Tanda or similar a bonus).

Available for flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays on a 2-week rotating roster. A mix of morning and evenings with every second Saturday and Sunday off to maintain a healthy work life balance.

Barista or bar experience is a plus but not essential.
