Job summary

Macquarie Group in Sydney is seeking a risk-focused professional to join Financial Management, People and Engagement as part of Non-Financial Risk oversight. You will provide risk advice, review and challenge across Group Finance, supporting reporting, governance and decision-making.

You will work with Line 1 and 2 risk teams, manage issues, prepare risk reporting for forums, and contribute to the control environment while partnering with stakeholders worldwide to strengthen risk management

Our team provides Line 1 Non-Financial Risk review, challenge and advice across Group Finance, supporting Financial and Regulatory Reporting, Treasury Finance, ESG, accounting standard and audit governance activities. We work closely with stakeholders globally, as well as colleagues across Line 1 and 2, to strengthen risk management practices and support informed decision-making.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will provide risk advice, review and challenge, and work closely with Financial Management, People and Engagement NFR teams that support business units. You will manage issues and incidents, prepare and contribute to risk reporting and work closely with other Line 1 and 2 risk teams, finance stakeholders to identify, assess and monitor the Group Finance risk and control environment and emerging developments that can impact processes and stakeholders.

What You Offer

• Strong understanding of finance functions and the risks involved in financial and regulatory reporting, Treasury Finance functions including corporate hedging activities and a desire to learn more about processes and the controls that operate to mitigate risks faced by FPE and the organisation;
• Experience in business operational risk management: processes and control environments, value chains, risk assessments, issues management and incident management that require some understanding of the underlying FPE processes.
• Ability to be adaptable to BAU and initiative prioritisation activities and work in a collaborative team environment with other FPE NFR teams specialising in Data, Technology, Controls Integrity and Controls Assurance as well as other division-aligned teams for Group Treasury, Tax and People and Engagement teams.
• Experience preparing risk reporting for internal forums and risk committees or other PowerPoint presentations. Ability to present clear insights on risks, issues, incidents and control effectiveness.
• General knowledge of internal risk management frameworks, policies and standards
• Experience using OpenPages or similar risk management systems to record, assess and monitor risks, controls, issues and incidents.
