Job summary

Drakes Supermarkets is seeking an aspiring Bakery Assistant to support the Bakery Manager in the Angle Vale store. You will help with day-to-day operations, stock control, merchandising and providing excellent customer service.

This permanent part-time role offers 25 hours per week, with Monday–Friday 7am–6pm plus a rotating Saturday or Sunday shift. Training is provided and there are strong paths to progress into Bakery Management within our growing SA stores.

Qualifications

• Food handling experience or fresh food retail knowledge.
• Exposure to supporting or leading a team.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A commitment to work health and safety standards.
• Strong business acumen with an understanding of retail operations.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Bakery Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring full availability of products, and a high level of service to our customers.

Some of the key tasks include supporting the Department Manager with leading and coaching the team, ensuring inventory management compliance and accurate stock levels, merchandising, generating rosters and much more!

This is a permanent part-time position starting at 25 hours per week.

Availability Requirements

• Monday-Friday between 7am-6pm
• Fortnightly rotation of a Saturday or Sunday shift
• Ability to be flexible during periods of team leave.
• A willingness to support nearby stores if required.
