Job summary

HammondCare in Sydney seeks a part-time Management Accountant for Home Care and Independent Living to lead month-end, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for our care portfolios. Based at St Leonards with hybrid work, the role supports compliance with aged care regulations and collaborates with the finance team.

You will bring CPA/CA qualification (or working towards), 3–5 years in a similar role, and strong Excel/admin skills; exposure to SUN and Epicor is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
• Experience managing a team - preferred.
• Exposure to SUN and Epicor systems advantageous.
• Exposure to the Home Care Sector advantageous.
• Strong administrative and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and end of year reports.
• Interrogate and analyse financial results.
• Year-end financial and statutory reporting, encompassing aged care legislation, ACNC legislation, Australian Accounting standards.
• Budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking.
• Manage General Ledger journals, allocations, reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate annual Budget and Forecasting process with Business Managers and Accountants.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and other units to support client services.
• Liaise with auditors and assist in audit and review processes.

About the Opportunity

The role of Management Accountant - Home Care and Independent Living is responsible for month-end, year-end financial and statutory accounting, prudential reporting, budgeting and forecasting, fixed assets and capital projects as well as general support for enabling portfolios. In the future this position may have direct report(s).

This is part-time position 3 days per week, based at St Leonards with hybrid working opportunities.

How you'll make an impact:

• Ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and end of year reports


• Identify and act on improvements in current procedures to enhance efficiency and timely presentation of reports


• Interrogation and analysis of financial results


• Year-end financial and statutory reporting, encompassing aged care legislation, ACNC legislation, Australian Accounting standards and any other year end reporting


• Budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking


• Manage the processing of General Ledger journals, corporate allocations, reconciliation of operating system to General ledger, and Balance sheet reconciliations


• Liaise with the Corporate Finance Team and the external and internal auditors to assist in the audit and review processes


• Coordinate and manage annual Budget and Forecasting process, working with Business Managers and Accountants


• Work closely with finance, operations, and other business units ensuring best possible client services


• Understand and apply Aged Care Regulations and Retirement Village legisation

About you
