Job summary

Stratco is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its Finance team in Australia. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role oversees management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting and commercial analysis to support Stratco Group operations.

The successful candidate will collaborate with operational and finance stakeholders to deliver accurate financial information, identify performance trends and support informed decision-making across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards obtaining CPA or CA accreditation.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and financial reporting.
• Coordinate month-end accounting processes and ensure timely and accurate completion of financial results.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis reports.
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Work with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insights and support commercial decision-making.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor expenditure and performance against budget and forecast targets.
• Support stocktake activities and ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting.
• Prepare daily and monthly operational performance reports.
• Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements).
• Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and other taxation compliance requirements.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and finance-related projects.
