Job summary

Stratco (Australia) Pty Limited is seeking a commercially minded Cost Accountant based at our Gepps Cross head office. You will support operational performance through accurate costing, insightful analysis and partnering with stakeholders across Operations, Production, Supply Chain and Finance.

You'll maintain standard product costs, manage month-end processes and analyse variances to drive profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 3+ years of commercial accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
• Experience with Oracle ERP systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard product costs across materials, labour and overheads.
• Manage month-end costing processes and validations.
• Analyze manufacturing and inventory variances and provide recommendations.
• Monitor product costs and identify profitability and efficiency opportunities.
• Support inventory valuation accuracy and accounting standards compliance.
• Produce timely cost and variance reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements for reporting accuracy.

We're looking for a commercially minded Cost Accountant, based at our Head Office in Gepps Cross. You’ll play a key role in supporting operational performance through accurate costing, insightful analysis, and meaningful business partnering.

Responsibilities

Working closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain and Finance teams, you'll help ensure our manufacturing costs, inventory valuations and financial reporting remain accurate, insightful and commercially valuable.

• Maintaining and updating standard product costs across materials, labour and overheads
• Managing month end costing processes and validation activities
• Analysing manufacturing and inventory variances and providing actionable recommedations
• Monitoring product costs and identifying opportunities for improved profitability and efficiency
• Supporting inventory valuation accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Producing timely and accurate cost and variance reporting
• Identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy

About you

You're analytical, commercially curious and enjoy getting beyond the numbers to understand what drives business performance.

To be successful, you'll bring:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• 3+ years of commercial accounting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Advanced Excel skills
• The confidence to engage with a varied stakeholder group
• Experience within a manufacturing environment (highly regarded)
• Experience with Oracle ERP systems advantageous
