Job summary

UGL Transport in Kangy Angy, NSW is seeking a Maintenance & Testing Engineer to join the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) team. You will provide technical leadership across rollingstock maintenance, testing and commissioning to support safety, reliability and performance.

Reporting to the Maintenance and Testing Manager, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering groups to resolve issues, improve asset performance and deliver safe, efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Experience in rollingstock maintenance, testing and commissioning, or a similar safety-critical environment.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate maintenance, testing and commissioning documentation, including work instructions, test procedures and task lists.
• Investigate faults, quality concerns and design issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure all maintenance and testing activities meet safety, quality and compliance requirements.
• Support rollingstock operations and train movements within the facility.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver effective maintenance and commissioning outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, efficiency and operational performance.
