Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at our site in Jandakot, Perth.

You'll maintain and repair material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery, respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long-term improvements to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualification and current electrical license or equivalent recognised in Australia.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Fault finding experience with material handling equipment/automation.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Experience with conveyor maintenance and motor controllers/inverters.
• Commitment to health and safety standards.

Job description

Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technician to join our Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at our site in Jandakot, Perth

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll keep our site operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery. You'll respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long-term improvements to reduce downtime.

We are hiring day shift positions, working on a 4-day roster (10-hour shifts) including one weekend day.

These roles are entitled to annual leave and penalty rates where applicable.

Key job responsibilities

• Complete proactive and preventative maintenance on site equipment
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults in a live warehouse environment
• Implement long-term solutions to reduce future downtime
• Use specialised tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
• Follow and promote Health & Safety standards

Basic Qualifications

• Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate lll in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Cert lll in Engineering OR Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
• Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical /mechanical drawings
• Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
• Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CMMS systems
• Experience with sortation machines
• Experience with maintaining/configuring bar code scanners
• Experience with print and apply machines
