Job summary

Amazon in Sydney seeks Maintenance Technicians to keep our sites running safely and efficiently. You will repair and maintain material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging machinery, responding quickly to breakdowns and implementing preventative maintenance.

On-site roles are available for day and night shifts, with annual leave and penalty rates where applicable. You will develop technical skills and support junior team members while following health and safety

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualifications as listed (electrotechnology or mechanical).
• Current electrical trade license or equivalent recognised in Australia.
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems and fault detection.

Responsibilities

• Complete proactive and preventative maintenance on site equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults in a live warehouse environment.
• Implement long-term solutions to reduce future downtime.
• Use specialized tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
• Follow and promote Health & Safety standards.

Amazon is continuing to grow across Australia, and we’re expanding our Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) teams with multiple opportunities for Maintenance Technicians in Sydney.

We are currently hiring for:

Horsley Park, NSW – Our brand NEW site

Chullora, NSW - Our brand NEW site opening in early 2027

As a Maintenance Technician, you will keep our site running safely and efficiently. You will repair andmaintainmaterial handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution machinery. Your quick response to breakdowns and implementation of preventative maintenance will minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Working on-site allows you to respond quickly to machinery issues whileidentifyingopportunities for long-term improvements. In this role, you will develop your technical skills and support the growth of junior team members.

Full time, permanent day and night shift positions available!

The role is entitled to annual leave and penalty rates where applicable.

What you'll bring:

• Formal Trade Qualification:
• Certificate lll in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license, OR
• Certificate III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, an equivalent trade qualification formally recognised in Australia.
• Demonstrated experience with preventative maintenance systems
• Proficiencyin fault detection within Material Handling Equipment
• Technical ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulatory standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computer maintenance systems (CMMS), sortation machines, maintaining/configuring bar code scanners or print and apply machine
