Job summary

Blackbook Recruitment is partnering with a growing food manufacturing site in Young, NSW to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor. You will lead a team of skilled tradespeople, drive maintenance strategy, and play a key role in site improvements and reliability.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities while mentoring your team and promoting a safe, high-performance culture. This is a hands-on leadership role on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Trade qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience planning and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive leadership style with a passion for developing people.
• Onshore work rights in Australia.

The Opportunity Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day maintenance function, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment while mentoring and developing your team.
You’ll have responsibility across:

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of maintenance tradespeople.
• Coordinating maintenance schedules, labour allocation and resources.
• Driving preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Minimising downtime and improving equipment reliability.
• Supporting capital projects, plant upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Building strong relationships with production and operational stakeholders.
• Championing a positive safety culture across the site.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be equally comfortable on the production floor supporting your team as you are planning future maintenance activities and site improvements.

To be successful you’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing, FMCG, food processing or industrial environment.
• Trade qualifications (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience planning and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive leadership style and passion for developing people.
• A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Must be onshore and have full Australian workrights
