Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Western Sydney is seeking a hands-on Shift Supervisor – Production & Maintenance to lead daily production and coordinate maintenance activities within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will monitor equipment performance, drive reliability initiatives and support workforce planning while collaborating with the Site Leadership team on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor or similar leadership role in FMCG/manufacturing.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments such as food, packaging or automated manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to make quick decisions in fast-paced settings.
• Exposure to maintenance activities, reliability programs or production operations.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production and maintenance activities across the site.
• Coordinate maintenance requirements, contractors and service providers.
• Monitor equipment reliability, downtime and production performance.
• Assist with preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Provide leadership and support to production teams when required.
• Participate in workforce planning, labour allocation and shift coverage.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Coordinate responses to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports and work order systems.
• Complete shift handovers and operational reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and maintenance functions.
• Coach, develop and support team members to improve site performance.

About the Company: Our client is a leading manufacturer operating within the plastics and packaging sector, supplying products to some of Australia's largest food, beverage and industrial businesses. With a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence, they operate a highly automated manufacturing facility and are seeking an experienced leader to support both production and maintenance operations.

About the Role: We are seeking a hands‑on Shift Supervisor – Production & Maintenance to support a fast‑paced manufacturing operation based in Western Sydney. This role offers a unique combination of production leadership and maintenance coordination. Initially, the successful candidate will work closely with the Site Leadership team, assisting with maintenance planning, equipment reliability, contractor coordination and plant performance. Over time, the role will expand into broader shift supervision responsibilities, providing leadership across production operations when required. This position is ideal for someone from an FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or automated manufacturing environment who enjoys leading people, solving operational problems and driving performance.

About you:

• Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor, Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Manufacturing Coordinator or similar leadership position
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or other high-volume manufacturing environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to make decisions quickly in a fast‑paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and drive results
• Experience supporting maintenance activities, reliability programs or production operations
• Strong problem‑solving and organisational skills
• Hands‑on approach with a strong work ethic
• Exposure to maintenance management systems such as MEX, SAP or similar is highly regarded
• Relevant technical, diploma or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic discipline
• Demonstrates exceptional judgement, drive and influence
