Job summary

Seek is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for our Melbourne site in the northern suburbs. You will work with the Maintenance Manager on preventative maintenance, repairs, and site improvements to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in food manufacturing, are comfortable with tools, and can operate independently while following GMP and safety protocols. This is a day-shift, full-time role within a growing production environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability.
• Trade qualification or apprenticeship (completed or in progress) highly regarded.
• Minimum 7 years experience in local food manufacturing.
• Proven maintenance experience in Australian manufacturing, food production or a similar environment is preferred.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Willing to learn and take direction.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently when required.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Support equipment repairs and breakdown response.
• Carry out routine inspections and servicing.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and site improvements.
• Work with contractors when required.
• Maintain workshop, tools and spare parts in an organised condition.
• Complete maintenance records accurately.
• Support food safety, GMP and workplace safety requirements.
• Identify maintenance issues before they become breakdowns.
• Assist with general factory maintenance and improvement projects.
