Job summary

Accor in Hervey Bay is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance across BreakFree Great Sandy Straits and Mantra Hervey Bay. You will supervise Maintenance Assistants, coordinate planned works, and liaise with owners on replacements to keep guest rooms and assets in top condition.

The role requires strong leadership, WHS awareness, and excellent communication with contractors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance, facilities, hospitality or strata operations.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication with owners, contractors and stakeholders.
• WHS understanding and contractor management.
• High level computer literacy with Outlook, Hub OS and Monday.com.
• Organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Maintenance Assistants across both properties.
• Coordinate preventative and programmed maintenance works.
• Liaise with owners regarding approvals for replacement of items such as appliances, floor coverings, fixtures and other owner assets.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors undertaking maintenance and repair works.
• Conduct contractor inductions and verify compliance documentation.
• Inspect completed works to ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are met.
• Monitor room conditions and identify maintenance and replacement requirements.
• Support oversight of Facilities Attendants responsible for grounds, gardens, pools and external property assets.
• Maintain accurate records and manage workflows through Hub OS, Monday.com and email systems.
• Assist the Building Manager and General Manager with maintenance planning and reporting.

Job description

Located on the waterfront of Hervey Bay, just a short two-hour drive north from the Sunshine Coast, you will discover BreakFree Great Sandy Straits. The property offers studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, 2 swimming pools, 2 full sized tennis courts and a games room, not to mention the beach just 50m away. Right in the heart of one of Australia's premier whale watching destinations, the property offers a perfect vantage point to witness these majestic creatures. If that’s not your thing – use your days off to explore around K'gari by 4WD, swimming in crystal clear shorelines or bask in the breath-taking hues of a sunset cruise.

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to support the Building Manager and General Manager in leading the day-to-day maintenance operations across BreakFree Great Sandy Straits and Mantra Hervey Bay.

Purpose

This role will provide direct supervision and support to the Maintenance Assistants, ensuring guest rooms, common property assets, and building infrastructure are maintained to a high standard. The successful candidate will coordinate planned maintenance works, owner-funded replacements, contractor activities, and preventative maintenance programs while ensuring compliance and safety requirements are met.

• Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities, hospitality or strata operations.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with apartment owners, contractors and stakeholders.
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements and contractor management.
• High level of computer literacy, including Outlook, Hub OS and Monday.com.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead by example.
