Job summary

Veolia in Wingfield, SA seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team, overseeing preventive, predictive and corrective programs while solving complex electrical and mechanical issues. You will ensure safety culture and maintain records, coordinating with the Maintenance Manager and production teams to minimise downtime and manage shutdowns.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in supervision, a relevant trade certificate, and CMMS experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in maintenance supervision and operations.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong background in electrical or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• SA Drivers Licence and Working at Heights Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, managing daily work orders, shift scheduling, performance evaluations and fostering a strong safety culture.
• Oversee maintenance operations including preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring timely completion of tasks and accurate record keeping.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues, providing technical guidance while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager and production teams to minimise downtime and manage major shutdowns.
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance, manage spare parts inventory and reporting on KPIs and maintenance metrics.
• Enforce health, safety and compliance standards including OSHA/MSHA regulations and conduct safety meetings.

The Opportunity

What you'll be responsible for

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, managing daily work orders, shift scheduling, performance evaluations and fostering a strong safety culture
• Oversee all maintenance operations including preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring timely completion of tasks and accurate record keeping
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues, providing technical guidance to staff while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and production teams, minimising downtime and managing major shutdown schedules
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance, managing spare parts inventory, mobile equipment and reporting on KPIs and maintenance metrics
• Enforce health, safety and compliance standards including OSHA/MSHA regulations, conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks and investigating incidents

What you'll need to be successful

• Electrical or Mechanical Trade certification or equivalent technical qualification preferred
• Minimum 3+ years in maintenance supervision and operations
• Waste, Quarry, Mining, or Processing Plant experience highly regarded
• Strong background in either electrical or mechanical systems
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
• Understanding of industrial equipment and machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• SA Drivers Licence
• Working at Heights Licence
