Job summary

Veolia ANZ is seeking a Fleet & Workshop Supervisor based in Emerald to lead daily fleet maintenance and workshop operations, ensuring safety and compliance with state/national regulations while meeting Veolia KPIs.

You will coordinate maintenance staff, manage downtime, and drive efficiency with a strong focus on safety and quality outcomes within a large environmental services organization.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance teams is desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and HSE practices.
• Willingness to operate in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities to meet regulations and Veolia KPIs.
• Supervise workshop staff to ensure efficient workflow and high productivity.
• Foster a safety-focused culture by enforcing protocols and conducting risk assessments.
• Maintain communication with operations and sales to schedule downtime and provide repair estimates.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate facility repairs and maintenance.
• Participate in Monthly KPI meetings and drive improvement plans.

The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ has a fantastic opportunity for a Fleet & Workshop Supervisor to join our team based in Emerald.

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily fleet maintenance and workshop operations, with a focus on ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive execution of maintenance tasks in line with state and national laws/legislation, as well as Veolia’s policies, processes, and procedure s.

What you'll be responsible for

Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities to ensure the fleet consistently meets or exceeds state and national regulations, as well as Veolia's KPIs, policies, and procedures

Supervise and coordinate workshop and maintenance staff to ensure efficient workflow and high productivity

Foster a safety-focused culture by ensuring compliance with safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and mitigating hazards within the workshop

Maintain ongoing and effective communication with operations and sales teams to schedule planned downtime, provide feedback on breakdowns, updates on repairs, and estimates on costs and completion times in a timely manner

Maintain inventory levels of spare parts and consumables to minimize unnecessary downtime

Coordinate facility repairs and maintenance

Participate in Monthly KPI meetings to discuss area performance. Contribute and take ownership of improvement plans and individual/team KPIs and objectives

What you'll need to be successful

Cert III in a mechanical trade or equivalent, and/or demonstrable experience in a similar role

Familiar with COR and NHVR maintenance standards and guidelines

Excellent computer literacy with extensive experience using Excel/Sheets

Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Strong leadership and communication skills

Prior experience supervising or managing maintenance teams (desirable)

A proactive and practical approach to workplace HSE
