Job summary

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead a large mobile mining fleet across Carmichael Mine. You will drive safety, reliability and cost-effective maintenance outcomes within a FIFO roster.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll build high-performing teams, mentor leaders and deliver monthly reports to the client and head office, ensuring compliance with site standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale mining maintenance operations.
• Trade qualification as Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
• Current G1, G8 and G9 (formerly S1, S2 and S3).
• Current G2 (RIIRIS402E – Carry Out the Risk Management Process).
• Current Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance of a large heavy mining equipment fleet.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Build, mentor and lead high-performing maintenance teams.
• Drive equipment reliability, availability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and present monthly maintenance reports for the client and Head Office.
• Ensure all maintenance documentation and reporting is completed accurately.
• Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and site standards.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and the client.
