Job summary

Xenco Services in Queensland is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to lead SAP maintenance process rollout. The role requires hands-on expertise in fixed plant maintenance and close collaboration with site operations, reliability and engineering teams to implement and optimize maintenance data and work management.

The position focuses on developing maintenance plans, job plans and work instructions, while driving improvements to maintenance strategies and SAP integration across the site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner in mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of fixed plant maintenance and planning processes.
• Experience with SAP and maintenance data handling.
• Experience supporting a SAP implementation or improvement project is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and rollout of SAP maintenance processes across the site.
• Develop, review and maintain maintenance plans, schedules, job plans and work instructions.
• Review and improve maintenance strategies and work management processes.
• Ensure maintenance master data, equipment information and task lists are established in SAP.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering and Operations teams to align SAP with site requirements.
• Support development and optimisation of preventative maintenance strategies.
• Assist with data migration, validation and cleansing as required.
• Identify gaps and opportunities within maintenance planning and work processes.
• Support standardised maintenance planning processes and SAP handover to site team.

About the Opportunity

Xenco is partnering with a major mining operator in Queensland to appoint a Maintenance Planner to support a major SAP implementation project. Working closely with the Maintenance, Planning, Reliability and Project teams, you’ll play a key role in supporting the transition to SAP and ensuring maintenance processes, work management practices and planning data are effectively established and implemented across the site. This is a hands‑on project role for an experienced Maintenance Planner who understands fixed plant maintenance, has strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling, and is comfortable working closely with site teams to implement and improve maintenance processes and systems.

What You’ll Do

• Support the implementation and rollout of SAP maintenance processes across the site
• Develop, review and maintain maintenance plans, schedules, job plans and work instructions
• Review and improve existing maintenance strategies and work management processes
• Ensure maintenance master data, equipment information, task lists and maintenance plans are accurately established in SAP
• Work closely with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering and Operations teams to ensure SAP processes align with site requirements
• Support the development and optimisation of preventative maintenance strategies
• Assist with the migration, validation and cleansing of maintenance data as required
• Identify gaps and improvement opportunities within existing maintenance planning and work management processes
• Support the development and implementation of standardised maintenance planning processes
• Provide guidance and support to maintenance teams during the SAP implementation and transition
• Participate in workshops, testing, user acceptance testing and implementation activities
• Monitor implementation progress and identify issues, risks and areas requiring further support
• Develop and maintain planning documentation, procedures and work management standards
• Support the effective handover of SAP processes and systems to the site maintenance team

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner within mining, minerals processing or a similar heavy industrial environment
• Strong understanding of fixed plant maintenance and maintenance planning processes
• Previous experience working with SAP
• Experience supporting an SAP implementation improvement project is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance planning and scheduling
• Experience developing maintenance plans, job plans, work instructions and maintenance strategies
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, Operations and Project teams
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
