Job summary

Autumn Aged Care in Melbourne is seeking a reliable Maintenance Person to keep our home safe, welcoming and well maintained. This full-time role covers preventative and reactive maintenance, grounds upkeep, and assisting with furniture and equipment relocations to support a homely environment for residents.

You'll work closely with the leadership team, perform carpentry, plumbing, painting and general repairs, and liaise with external contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in building, grounds or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and practical hands-on approach.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building repairs and maintenance across the home.
• Maintain gardens, outdoor areas and grounds presentation.
• Complete preventative maintenance programs and scheduled inspections.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Carry out minor carpentry, plumbing, painting and repair works.
• Assist with furniture and equipment relocations and installations.
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with all health and safety requirements.
• Work with external contractors and service providers where required.

This is an exciting full-time opportunity, Monday to Friday, for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining buildings, gardens and facilities to a high standard.

Working closely with the leadership team, you'll be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance, grounds upkeep and ensuring our home remains safe, functional and welcoming for residents, visitors and team members.

• Perform general building repairs and maintenance across the home

• Previous experience in building, grounds or facilities maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical hands-on approach
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Friendly communication skills and a customer-service mindset
• Current driver's licence
• Trade qualification highly regarded but not essential
