Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience completing maintenance for commercial businesses.
• Police Check (National Police Certificate) is essential.
• Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety Requirements.
• Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
• A White Card (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintain common grounds and shared spaces to a high standard of presentation.
• Perform general building maintenance such as painting, lighting replacement, gutter cleaning, basic plumbing, tiling, and minor repairs.
• Follow preventative maintenance programs to ensure timely upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas.
• Identify hazards and address them in line with work health and safety procedures.

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Officer to join our team on casual basis.

You will be based at our Hillview House, located at 45 Hillview St Woy Woy NSW 2256.

Hillview House is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our team in a warm, resident-focused aged care environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe and well-presented facilities, and understands the importance of a well-maintained environment in supporting the quality of life of our residents.

Our Ideal candidate

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience completing maintenance for commercial businesses (desirable)
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer in Aged Care (preferrable)
• Police Check (National Police Certificate) (Essential)
• Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety Requirements
• Possess good communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to work proactively to identify maintenance problems, including regularly inspecting and assessing repair work; and
• Have the ability to recognise, elevate and resolve maintenance matters which require further assistance.
• Current Driver’s License Class C; and
• A SafeWork NSW White Card (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain common grounds and shared spaces to a high standard of presentation
• Perform general garden maintenance, including mulching, planting, weed control (manual and spraying), and lawn care
• Operate garden and maintenance equipment, including ride-on mowers, power tools, and high-pressure cleaning equipment
• Carry out general building maintenance such as painting, lighting replacement, gutter cleaning, basic plumbing, tiling, and minor repairs
• Follow preventative maintenance programs to ensure timely upkeep of buildings and outdoor areas
• Identify, report, and address hazards in line with work health and safety procedures
• Obtain quotes for repairs or maintenance works as directed by the House Manager
• Provide friendly, professional service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff
• Build positive relationships with residents through a respectful, approachable, and supportive manner
