Job summary

Boort District Health is seeking a motivated Maintenance Officer to perform general building and grounds tasks across sites. You’ll work under the Facilities Manager, ensuring repairs, safety and efficient operation of facilities.

This casual role requires practical handyman skills, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate external contractors while maintaining a safe, presentable environment. Training and safety are prioritized.

Qualifications

• Experience in general handyman tasks using trade tools.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team.
• Strong communication and coordination with external contractors.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing work practices and legislative requirements.
• Physically fit to operate mechanical equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and grounds maintenance, repairs and preventative tasks.
• Coordinate contractors, ensure essential services compliance, and maintain records.
• Support facility improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, waste management and emergency readiness on site.
• Assist with fleet management, procurement, fire prevention and sustainability initiatives.

This hands-on role provides general maintenance duties supporting our facilities.Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining buildings, equipment, and outdoor spaces across Boort District Health sites and properties.
