Job summary

Pathways Health Management in Sydney is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to oversee day-to-day upkeep of our aged care facilities. You will manage preventative maintenance, keep accurate records, and liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with industry standards.

This role offers Mon-Fri shifts, no late nights or weekends, staff parking, paid training, scholarships and recognition programs. Experience in handyman or trade work and a current police check, vaccinations, and 100-point

Qualifications

• Demonstrated handyman/trade/maintenance background.
• Awareness of regulations and compliance importance.

Responsibilities

• Manage preventative maintenance program for buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with industry codes and Aged Care Standards.
• Coordinate deliveries and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Manage inventory and track stock levels.
• Perform handyman tasks including minor repairs and replacements.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Obtain quotes and oversee external trade work approvals.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Team and update Executive Manager on repairs and status.

Position Overview

This role oversees day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring tasks are completed on time, to a high standard, and in compliance with industry codes of practice and Aged Care and Seniors Living Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preventative maintenance program, ensuring buildings, equipment, and grounds are well maintained.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with industry codes and Aged Care Standards.
• Coordinate deliveries and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Manage certain inventory and track stock levels.
• Perform a variety of handyman tasks, including minor repairs, furniture fixes, and replacements.
• Conduct regular inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs.
• Request and coordinate external trade work, including obtaining quotes and overseeing approved jobs.
• Collaborate with other members of the Maintenance Team other departments and provide updates to the Executive Manager on repairs, inventory, and job status.

• Experience working in aged care / seniors living desirable
• Demonstrated experience in handyman/trade/maintenance work
• Awareness of regulations and the importance of compliance
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must have current police check, covid and flu vaccine and 100 points of ID
