Job summary

Calvary Health Care in Launceston, TAS is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Officer to keep our facilities safe and well‑maintained for residents. You will perform general maintenance, garden tasks, and coordinate contractors under the Home Manager’s guidance.

You will prioritise maintenance logs, stock orders, and hazard responses, contributing to a comfortable living environment and high-quality care. Experience in maintenance or gardening and a valid driver's licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Maintenance/Gardening role.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer-focused services.
• Driver's licence class.
• Understanding of aged care including retirement village/independent living.
• Trade qualifications and/or experience.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Maintenance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and contribute to the well-being of our residents. As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facility, creating a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

Your main duties will include:

• Attend to general maintenance tasks as directed including gardening as required.
