Job summary

Calvary Health Care in Launceston, TAS, is seeking a Maintenance Officer to ensure our facilities are safe, well-maintained and comfortable for residents. You will undertake general maintenance tasks, including gardening, and coordinate contractors as needed.

Under the Home Manager's guidance, you will plan maintenance across the home, schedule activities, and manage stock. A strong focus on WH&S, infection control and customer-focused service is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Maint enance/Gardening role.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer-focused services.
• Valid driver's license class.

Responsibilities

• Attend to general maintenance tasks including gardening as required.
• Check maintenance logs and prioritise tasks; coordinate contractors as required.
• Under the guidance of the Home Manager, plan and schedule maintenance across the home.
• Order and store stock as required.
• Ensure timely action on hazards, incidents and other maintenance-related events.

About The Role

The Maintenance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and contribute to the well-being of our residents. As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facility, creating a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

Your main duties will include:

• Attend to general maintenance tasks as directed including gardening as required.
• Checking maintenance logs and prioritising tasks, coordinating contractors to attend as required.
• Under the guidance of the Home Manager, plan and schedule maintenance across the home
• Ordering and storing of stock as required.
• Ensure the timely action of hazards, incidents and other events that involve the maintenance function.

About You

• Experience in Maintenance/Gardening role
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Working Knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
• Demonstrated commitment to customer focused services
• Drivers licence Class
• Previous experience and understanding of aged care including retirement village/ independent living setting
• Trade qualifications and/or experience
