Job summary

Mayday Recruitment seeks a Maintenance Officer to own day‑to‑day maintenance at a 100‑bed aged care facility in Warrawee. You will report to the Residential Manager and the Property Manager and handle upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment.

The role is full-time and autonomous, with a Monday–Friday pattern and flexible start times (7–3 or 8–4). An ASAP start is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or facilities management is required.
• Trade qualification is highly regarded but not essential.
• Good WHS and safe working practices knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the facility.
• Paint and plastering.
• Minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Coordinate external trades and supervise contractors.
• Maintain maintenance schedules and records.
• Assist with refurbishment, equipment replacement and capital works.
• Gardens and grounds upkeep.

This established organisation operates within the residential aged care sector, providing care and support to older Australians across its network of facilities. They are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer to join their 100-bed facility in Warrawee, taking ownership of day-to-day maintenance across the site.

The Role

As the sole Maintenance Officer on site, you'll be responsible for maintaining the facility, grounds, plant and equipment, reporting into the Residential Manager and Property Manager.

Day to day you will be involved in:

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the facility
• Painting and plastering
• Minor plumbing and electrical repairs
• Equipment repairs and general upkeep
• Gardening and grounds maintenance
• Planning and completing preventative and corrective maintenance
• Maintaining accurate maintenance schedules and records
• Organising and coordinating external trades and contractors
• Supervising contractors while on site
• Assisting with refurbishment, equipment replacement and capital works

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Officer, Facilities Maintenance, Handyman or similar hands-on role
• Trade qualification highly regarded, but not essential
• Good understanding of WHS and safe working practices
