Job summary

Workfast is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for a fixed plant role in Stapylton, QLD. You will join a Waste Management & Recycling facility, carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs and plant improvements on fixed plant equipment.

The role requires a trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter, with a valid Australian driver’s licence and full working rights. Afternoon shift available with penalties and allowances; a safety-first, team-focused environment is offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter with fixed plant experience.
• Able to perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on plant equipment.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repairs on fixed plant equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of plant and machinery.
• Work on conveyors, shredders, screens, pumps, gearboxes and recycling plant equipment.
• Assist with plant upgrades, installations and shutdowns when required.
• Ensure safety procedures and site compliance are followed.

Job Location: Stapylton, QLD

Workfast is looking for Maintenance Fitters Boilermaker in a leading hand role to join a Waste Management & Recycling Facility in Stapylton, QLD.

This role will see you working on a range of fixed plant equipment within a waste management and recycling operation, completing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and plant improvements.

You will be part of a motivated crew working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that operations run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance, repairs, on fixed plant equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of plant and machinery
• Work on equipment such as conveyors, shredders, screens, pumps, gearboxes, and recycling plant machinery
• Assist with plant upgrades, installations, and shutdown work when required
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with site safety procedures and compliance standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times

What You Bring to the Team:

• Australian Driver's Licence and full working rights
• Trade Qualification as a Boilermaker or Mechanical fitter
• Prior experience in a similar fixed plant, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industry maintenance role
• Full Australian working rights
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical & drug and alcohol test
• A can-do attitude with a willingness to engage in physically demanding tasks when necessary
