Job summary

Leading Food Manufacturer in Melbourne is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join a busy maintenance team. The role runs on a 6:00am–2:00pm day shift, with substantial overtime opportunities and a strong culture that values its people.

You should be a qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner with FMCG or industrial experience, adept at fault finding and proactive maintenance within a packaging facility.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter with FMCG/industrial manufacturing experience.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance in a production environment.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a high-performing maintenance team within a leading food manufacturing facility.

The Opportunity

Working Monday to Friday on a 6:00am – 2:00pm day shift, you will play a key role in keeping a busy food manufacturing facility running efficiently.

You’ll join a well-established maintenance team with strong tenure, meaning you’ll be surrounded by experienced tradespeople who know the site, support each other and take pride in keeping the operation running.
The role will involve a combination of preventative and reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement across a range of production and packaging equipment.

About You

We’re looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:

• Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or industrial manufacturing
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance
• A proactive approach to maintenance and reliability
• Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit maintenance team
