Job summary

Leading FMCG business with a fantastic Culture & Reputation is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join its hands-on maintenance team in Sydney. The role offers a stable Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift (2:30pm–10:30pm) with overtime opportunities and a supportive environment in a modern manufacturing facility.

You will perform planned and breakdown maintenance on production machinery, work on conveyors, pumps and gearboxes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills in an industrial setting.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance.
• Attend to breakdowns and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair production machinery and equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatics.
• Complete machinery adjustments, repairs and changeovers.
• Support maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.

Job description

Role: Maintenance Fitter
Company: Leading FMCG business with a fantastic Culture & Reputation
Rate: $45-52 an hour + 15% shift loading
Roster: Monday to Friday 2:30pm - 10:30pm

We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business. This is a great opportunity for a skilled fitter who enjoys a hands-on maintenance role and is looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift with a well-established company. FMCG or food manufacturing experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring production machinery and equipment remains safe, reliable and operational. Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Attending to breakdowns and mechanical faults
• Diagnosing and repairing production machinery
• Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic equipment
• Completing machinery adjustments, repairs and changeovers
• Assisting with maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Working closely with production to minimise downtime
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

About You

We are looking for a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Fitter who has:

• A recognised Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification
• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with production machinery and equipment
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong commitment to safety
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience - highly desirable
