Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics operates a highly automated distribution centre in Moorebank, NSW, seeking a Maintenance Fitter to perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on conveyors, sortation systems, robotics and other automated equipment.

This hands-on role runs on a rotating 12-hour day and night roster, with training and clear career development opportunities within a global Toyota organisation.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, automation or logistics environments.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, and repair automated material handling systems to ensure high availability and safety.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Respond to reactive service calls and address issues during shifts.
• Analyse system performance data and implement improvements.
• Maintain maintenance records and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior technicians and share best practices.
• Collaborate with the Service team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Maintenance Fitter

At a glance:

As a Maintenance Fitter based at our highly automated distribution centre in Moorebank, you'll work with some of Australia's most advanced warehouse automation technology, including conveyors, sortation systems, robotics and automated material handling equipment.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll perform preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs to keep critical operations running safely and efficiently. Working on a rotating 24/7 roster, you'll join a supportive team with excellent training, career development opportunities and the backing of a global Toyota organisation.

Your Impact:

• Maintain, install, and repair automated material handling systems to ensure high availability and safety
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and system faults to minimise downtime
• Respond to reactive service calls and proactively address issues during your shift
• Analyse system performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and performance records and prepare reports for stakeholders
• Support and mentor junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
• Collaborate closely with the Service team to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused outcomes

What makes you a great fit?

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Technician or similar
• Previous experience in manufacturing, automation, FMCG, logistics, warehouse, mining or industrial environments
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• Comfortable working within a team‑focused environment
• Willingness to work a rotating 12‑hour day and night roster
