Job summary

Leading FMCG business in Sydney is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join a stable, hands-on maintenance team. The role offers a Monday–Friday afternoon shift from 2:30pm to 10:30pm and a competitive hourly rate of $45-$52 plus 15% shift loading.

You will perform planned and preventive maintenance, attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, service conveyors, pumps and gearboxes, and support continuous improvement while ensuring production equipment safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner.
• Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with production machinery.
• Commitment to safety.
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Attending to breakdowns and mechanical faults
• Diagnosing and repairing production machinery
• Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic equipment
• Completing machinery adjustments, repairs and changeovers
• Assisting with maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Working closely with production to minimise downtime
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled fitter who enjoys a hands-on maintenance role and is looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift with a well-established company.

FMCG or food manufacturing experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring production machinery and equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Attending to breakdowns and mechanical faults
• Diagnosing and repairing production machinery
• Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic equipment
• Completing machinery adjustments, repairs and changeovers
• Assisting with maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Working closely with production to minimise downtime
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

About You

We are looking for a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Fitter who has:

• A recognised Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification
• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with production machinery and equipment
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong commitment to safety
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience – highly desirable
