Job summary

Leading FMCG business with a fantastic Culture & Reputation in Sydney's Greenacre area is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter. The role offers a Monday–Friday afternoon shift (2:30pm–10:30pm) with a competitive hourly rate and 15% shift loading.

You will perform planned and preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and ensure conveyors, pumps and gearboxes operate safely. FMCG experience is valued, but not essential.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Proven fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
• Safety-focused with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Attend to breakdowns and mechanical faults.
• Diagnose and repair production machinery; adjust and changeover machinery.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic systems.
• Support maintenance projects and continuous improvement; minimise downtime.

Rate: $45-52 an hour + 15% shift loading

Roster: Monday to Friday 2:30pm – 10:30pm

We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter to join a leading FMCG manufacturing business.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled fitter who enjoys a hands-on maintenance role and is looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday afternoon shift with a well-established company.

FMCG or food manufacturing experience is highly regarded, but not essential.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring production machinery and equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Attending to breakdowns and mechanical faults
• Diagnosing and repairing production machinery
• Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic equipment
• Completing machinery adjustments, repairs and changeovers
• Assisting with maintenance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Working closely with production to minimise downtime
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

About You

We are looking for a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Fitter who has:

• Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner trade qualification
• Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with production machinery and equipment
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong commitment to safety
• FMCG or food manufacturing experience – highly desirable
