Mount Isa Council is seeking a qualified mechanical tradesperson to maintain the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and associated waste operations. You will inspect, service, fault-find and repair processing plants, conveyors, hydraulics and gear drives while aiming to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.

With a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade and relevant licences, you will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring accurate records in CMMS and adherence to

Qualificações

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade required.
• Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
• Working at Heights certification.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Dogging or Rigging).
• Experience maintaining industrial processing plant, fixed plant or similar mechanical equipment.
• Sound knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, gearboxes, drives, bearings and rotating equipment.
• Demonstrated fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience delivering preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
• Experience using CMMS or similar.
• Ability to complete maintenance records, inspection reports and work orders.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in waste management, recycling, resource recovery, mining or industrial processing facilities.
• Electrical disconnect/reconnect competency.
• Experience with asset management and reliability-centred maintenance practices.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake inspections, servicing, fault finding, repairs and maintenance on processing plant and conveyor systems.
• Maintain hydraulic systems and associated equipment to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications to guide maintenance work.
• Document maintenance records, inspection reports and work orders.
• Operate CMMS to manage jobs and track asset history.
• Contribute to safety and environmental standards in waste management facilities.

This position is responsible for the safe and reliable maintenance of plant, equipment and infrastructure associated with Council's Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and waste operations.

Undertake inspections, servicing, fault finding, repairs and maintenance activities on processing plant, conveyor systems, hydraulic systems and associated equipment to maximise reliability, minimise downtime and support efficient facility operations.

About you:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent).
• Current Queensland "C" Class Driver Licence.
• Working at Heights certification.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Dogging or Rigging).
• Experience maintaining industrial processing plant, fixed plant or similar mechanical equipment.
