Job summary

Workfast is seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator/Planner to lead our client's maintenance team in Sunshine, VIC. You will develop and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans to maximize plant reliability and asset life.

This role requires hands-on leadership of up to 20 personnel, RCA capability, and a focus on safety, budgeting, and continuous improvement. The position offers a 9-day fortnight with full-time hours, daily O/T, and a starting rate of

Qualifications

• Education: tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience including leadership in a Maintenance Department.
• Fluent verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance team for direct reports (up to 20 personnel).
• Develop weekly maintenance schedules with ~80% preventative work.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain permits for staff/contractors.
• Contribute to RCA analysis for equipment failures >90 minutes.
• Manage budget and spares; assist with site budgets and critical spares list.
• Oversee workshop & spare parts areas with strong housekeeping.

Workfast is seeking an experienced Maintenance CoordinatorPlanner to lead our client's team inSunshine, VIC.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the maintenance team to maximize the life of site facilities and plant assets while driving plant reliability and throughout. You will be responsible for effective planning and scheduling, developing predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance plans, and implementing crucial capital improvement works as part of the wider Site Management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Coordination: Proactively lead a maintenance team for direct reports, managing up to 20 personnel including contractors, depending on project needs. Coordinate opportunity maintenance, unplanned activities, and breakdowns.
• Safety & Compliance: Actively participate in safety initiatives, incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety audits. Ensure strict compliance with all workplace high-risk or maintenance work permits for staff and contractors.
• Planning & Scheduling: Develop weekly maintenance schedules targeting an 80% preventative and 20% reactive work ratio. Ensure all equipment and plant items are kept up-to-date.
• Continuous Improvement & Reliability: Develop and implement maintenance improvement plans to enhance reliability. Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures exceeding 90 minutes.
• Budget & Spares Management: Maintain R&M costs to budget, contributing to the development of site operating and capital budgets. Conduct criticality studies (FMEA analysis) to ensure an adequate critical spares list is maintained.
• Workshop Oversight: Maintain high housekeeping standards and controls in both the workshop and spare parts holding areas, ensuring all inventory is organised and labelled.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

• Education: Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline OR equivalent experience and knowledge in maintenance engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience, including previous leadership experience in a Maintenance Department.
• Skills: Hands‑on maintenance approach, excellent fault‑finding/RCA capabilities, and advanced computer skills.
• Leadership & Change: Proven experience leading people to achieve company targets and previous experience navigating "Change Management".
• Communication: Fluent verbal and written English.
