Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Maintenance Planner for a permanent role in Rooty Hill, West Sydney, to ensure smooth operation of FMCG equipment and facilities. You will plan and schedule maintenance activities to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years as a planner, strong SAP or CMMS experience (preferably FIIX), and a proven ability to manage backlogs, coordinate with production and contractors, and drive preventive maintenance across the site.

Responsibilities

• Administer and improve planned maintenance within FIIX/CMMS.
• Develop maintenance work packs with labour, materials, permits and documentation.
• Manage maintenance backlogs based on risk and production needs.
• Coordinate with reliability, production, contractors and site leadership.
• Drive PM compliance and scheduling through planning and reporting.
• Escalate maintenance planning issues as first point of contact.
• Develop equipment trees and Bills of Materials in CMMS.
• Identify critical spare parts strategies via risk-based approach.
• Support plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, scheduling and inventory.
• Reduce reactive maintenance and improve asset reliability.
• Use predictive maintenance data to optimise spare parts strategies.
• Challenge processes and drive best-practice maintenance.

The Maintenance Planner in Rooty Hill will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and facilities within the FMCG industry. This permanent role focuses on planning and scheduling maintenance activities to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime.

Description

The Maintenance Planner will have the following responsibilities:

• Administer and continuously improve all aspects of planned maintenance within FIIX/CMMS


• Develop maintenance work packs, ensuring labour, materials, permits, documentation and resources are available prior to execution.


• Manage maintenance backlogs, prioritising work based on risk, reliability, production requirements and business impact.


• Partner closely with Reliability, Production, Contractors and Site Leadership teams to coordinate maintenance activities.


• Drive PM compliance and schedule adherence through effective planning, reporting and operational discipline.


• Act as the first point of escalation for maintenance planning and scheduling issues.


• Develop and maintain equipment trees and Bills of Materials within the CMMS.


• Identify and manage critical spare parts strategies through a risk-based approach.


• Drive improvements in stores organisation and 5S practices.


• Support preparation activities for plant shutdowns and major maintenance works.


• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance planning, scheduling and inventory management processes.


• Support initiatives aimed at reducing reactive maintenance and improving asset reliability.


• Use maintenance data and predictive maintenance principles to optimise spare parts and maintenance strategies.


• Challenge existing processes and drive best-practice maintenance methodologies across the site.

Profile

A successful Maintenance Planner should have:

• 5 years minimum as a planner, FMCG is preferred (not a must)


• Australian manufacturing experience essential.


• Strong SAP or CMMS experience, ideally FIIX. Technically credible with the confidence to challenge existing practices when required.


• Strong understanding of backlog management and work prioritisation.


• Self starter with a proactive and forward thinking mindset.


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to influence trades, contractors, production and leadership teams.


• Comfortable working in a fast paced FMCG manufacturing environment.


• Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification highly regarded, but not essential.
