Job summary

Volare Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Maintenance/Handyman in Brisbane to support property and grounds upkeep. The role involves furniture moves, event setup, and general repairs, with a busy, varied day-to-day schedule.

The ideal candidate has practical maintenance experience, good health and a team‑oriented attitude, and is comfortable working a 38-hour week from Monday to Friday. A Blue Card is preferred and onsite parking is available.

Job description

• Assist with all areas of maintenance in property or grounds
• Hands-on position including furniture moves, deliveries and event set-ups

Do you have previous experience in Maintenance or Handyman type duties and enjoy a role where no two days are the same? Otherwise, you may have come from a Wahehouse or Stores background, are naturally curious, practical and have a good understanding of day to day maintenance and repair type activities and you are handy with the tools.

Within this role you will provide general handyman skills across property and facilities maintenance which could be anything from minor repairs and replacing light bulbs to helping set up and pack down for events, moving furniture and equipment and assisting with general day-to-day operational requirements.

This is a hands‑on role, so you will need to enjoy physical work, be practical, organised and happy to get in and help wherever needed.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Functions set up and pack down – including set up and pack down of furniture and ability to direct of labour hire staff involved in the venue set ups
• Maintain security of the grounds and buildings
• Perform day to day maintenance request – replacement of batteries, lights, and other fixes
• Refuel work vehicle and work cans
• Clean swimming pool and balance chemicals
• Deliver parcels around the grounds using company vehicle
• Assist with ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the Logistics Coordinator
• Comply with OH&S

To be considered, you must possess the following:

• Ability to get a Blue Card
• Experience in some form of maintenance/handyman type duties, preferably in property and or grounds maintenance
• Good health, fitness and mobility – the ability to carry out some repetitive, physical activity including some heavy lifting
• Good communication skills and ability to deal with people of all levels
• Team player attitude
• Able to work 38 hours Monday–Friday (Shifts between 7am to 6pm finish)
